In a 20-minute interview with Justin Davis on Retrospective Podcast, Chris talks about coming to Japan, writing the books, theatre in lockdown, Black Stripe Theatre and much more. Enjoy!
How the book got written
As you can see, one of the books is now in the hands of Shirayuri University students. Before Chris embarks on using the plays and games in his classes, find out more about the journey he took in getting 12 Short Plays and 130 Drama Games published. A worthwhile read for those thinking about publishing.
Book Launch!
Aoyama Gakuin University orientation took place on April 3rd and it was the perfect time to launch the books. Each year the English department staff gather to share teaching practices. As you can imagine, there was a lot of talk on how to handle the remote classroom, but there were opportunities to share other practices.
From Monday (5th) the university doors reopen for the new term and after a year of zooming, students can come to campus and renter the classrooms. It was a really nice time to catch-up with friends and colleagues and meet some new members of staff, and the perfect opportunity to share what I’d been up to during lockdown: the two books!
Managed to get a few shots in middle of the campus with this pair! Looking forward to using these ideas in class!
Excuses warm-up
Here is a great game to get students talking and interacting with each other. The students found it a lot of fun, so I thought you might like to try it too. Give it a go!
